Retreat Preparation

This morning I am focusing on our day retreat at Ammerdown, ably supported by ‘Embodying The Yoga Sutra’ by Ranju Roy and David Charlton. This book is a brilliant resource to learn and reflect on important sutra from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras (copies can be ordered direct from Sadhana Mala)

If you have a chance before we meet, take a look at YS2.30: ahimsa-satya-asteya-brahmacarya-aparigrahah yamah (there should be some notation with that)

We are going to be talking about the yamas. From page 209 in ETYS:

cultivating the yama leads us to greater freedom and clarity in our relationships

The pandemic has certainly challenged our sense of freedom. Our aim for the day is to consider our part in offering another freedom and therefore ourselves

The Retreat Day is full but more are planned for 2022. In February, there is a two day retreat at Ammerdown. You do not need to be able to do headstands or bend yourself in half. Everyone is welcome. It is my responsibility to enable you to step on the mat. Your responsibility it to turn up and give yourself permission to move with your breath and find your centre. That is it. The weekend will incude practice, meditation, discussion and space
