Individual Yoga Lessons

I offer individual lessons in Long Ashton at the Hub. My own experience of a one to one teacher has been a huge support in my life and allows me to develop on a personal and professional level.

During a course of lessons, we can develop a home practice tailored for your own needs. The practice is often 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the time you have available and what you feel is sustainable.  ‘Little and often’ is preferable to ‘a lot now and then’.  Your practice is a consistent space in which to build relationship with and develop your yoga.

This practice follows the traditional teaching of Krishnamacharya and his son Desikachar. It is an integrated approach, working consciously with the breath to become aware of the relationship between the body and mind. The practice of asanas (postures), pranayama (seated breathing practice) and dhyana (meditation) offer a space to connect and the possibility of change.

The practice of yoga allows the body and mind to become still and supportive, encouraging a balanced relationship between strength and flexibility; allowing clarity and focus.  One of the strengths of this tradition is yoga meeting you where you are.

If you can breathe, you can do yoga (Krishnamacharya)

Yoga is safe and effective when practised within one’s own limits.  There is always an alternative or modified posture to encourage safe practice.  This time is for you.  By the end of the first lesson, you will have a practice to work with in your own time.  I encourage you to consider a course of lessons
