This year has left me feeling reflective and grateful for the healing aspects of my work. Another year of teaching courses, providing healing shares and finding clarity around what reiki is and what it isn’t, is shaping the way I want to teach.
I am creating one day reiki courses, specific to the original teachings of reiki as a mindful practice. The additional aspects I work with and I find nourishing, I will offer as afternoon workshops. I am spending time writing over December and will post ideas and offerings in January. Here are some dates to bear in mind:
- Reiki Shares are on Mondays 1900-2115 :
- 14 January, 25 February, 1 April, 3 June
- Introduction to Reiki (reiki I) on Fridays 0930-1830:
- 1 March, 5 April, 20 September
- Developing your personal reiki practice (reiki II) on Fridays 0930-1830
- Developing your professional practice to be arranged individually
- Elemental Healing workshops on Fridays 1330-1630
- 3 May, 2 August, 25 October
Let me know your initial thoughts. It’s always great to hear your ideas and responses

A reminder that yoga begins next Wednesday for 6 weeks: Yanley Yoga Spaces.
We had a false start to Friday’s Early Bird Yoga this week. It looks like numbers will be good for next Friday morning (0730-0830). Deadline for booking-in is midday Thursday 7 November (minimum of 4 early birders). I will confirm the class on Thursday afternoon: Friday Early Bird Yoga. Numbers allowing, this class will continue until the end of November, returning Feb/March next year.
I’m exploring some ideas around yoga, practice and bodywork. This is a mixture of personal study and attending lectures and study groups. I am hoping to write a weekly blog about what’s been happening and how some of my experience, research and studies might be useful to you.
For those of you who missed the blog, the Morning Retreats return next year. The February date has had to change due to me attending a course. Details can be found here: Morning Retreats
I think that’s it for now. Any questions, send me an email: Contact
Michael Mosley seems to be everywhere. I’m really enjoying the programmes he is involved in. If you were at one of the Wednesday evening classes recently, here is a link to the programme where they look at the effect of massage on white blood cells. The massage in question looks like Swedish massage and is skin to skin. I’m not sure how this translates to clothed massage or the effect of massaging just the feet as in Reflexology. I would like to think that any therapeutic touch will elicit the same benefit. I’ve always told clients to choose the therapy they enjoy the most as this is the one that will be the most beneficial. What do you think? :

And the next programme was on last night. They look at the benefits of Tai Chi compared to Zumba and the results really are worth listening to. I know we do not do Tai Chi and I suspect a teacher from that tradition would be able to give an opinion on what is happening energetically and physically. But it makes you think about all mindful bodywork approaches …:
