Reflexology

Reflexology is one of the most popular complementary therapies today. It is based on the principle that the body is reflected through specific points on the feet and hands. Using thumbs, fingertips and knuckles, the reflexologist applies pressure to these reflexes to encourage balance and wellbeing throughout the body. The feet are most commonly worked on because they tend to be more sensitive and responsive.

During a treatment, different textures and areas of sensitivity may be detected. Reflexology should never be painful; the most effective treatments are those where practitioner and client work together, finding a pressure that is both comfortable and therapeutic. While many people enjoy a single session, I often recommend a course of treatments, as the benefits tend to deepen over time. Clients frequently notice greater changes by the fourth session.

Reflexology is not a diagnostic tool. Rather than identifying specific conditions, it can highlight areas that may benefit from attention and support. My approach is holistic, recognising that physical symptoms cannot be separated from emotional wellbeing, lifestyle and personal experience.

For many clients, reflexology provides a profound opportunity to relax, reconnect and restore balance. Some even find it more powerful than massage, experiencing deep releases of tension and a renewed sense of clarity, wellbeing and self-awareness.
