Distant Healing

Reiki follows the Buddhist principle that we are one, we are all connected. When we become still and focused, we can receive healing for ourselves and connect to others at a distance. It is a simple practice.

What is involved?

If you would like to receive healing, you can send me a message and request to be included in my daily ‘sit’ on weekday mornings. Before or after the morning classes, I send healing to people who have requested healing. I send a message before I am about to begin and when I have finished. Each session lasts 10 to 15 minutes. If you would like a distant healing session specifically for you, this can be arranged

I create a meditative space and send healing with the intention you have requested as well as visualising that you will receive exactly what you need and in the best possible way. You do not have to sit at the same time as me but it’s great if you can. If this isn’t possible, just find a quiet moment during the day to sit and connect with the intention we have agreed

To receive your healing, it is best to find a quiet space of your own and say something along the lines of ‘I am ready to receive my reiki from Yvonne and accept this healing for my highest good’. How long you are quiet is up to you. Some people just sit for a couple of minutes, some end up falling asleep. When you decide it is time to finish or you wake up, you could end with words/feelings of gratitude

If you would like a healing session or course of healing specifically for you, we can agree a cost together considering frequency and length of sessions

What do people request healing for?

This varies. It can be physical or emotional stuff; sometimes people want a moment of shared meditation to see if they can find clarity or to hear the right questions. Sometimes what we want isn’t what we need and sometimes what we need isn’t what we want. Sometimes healing can make the ground feel less stable as shifts occur in your life. Letting go of stuff that’s unhelpful can initially cause resistance. It can be a case of being comfortable with what you know even if you feel inside that something needs to change

When is distant healing not appropriate?

Any type of energy work requires integrity and an ethical approach. If you are requesting distant healing for someone else, please ask their permission. If you do not feel you can ask their permission we can have a discussion. It may be that talking it through reveals what it is in you that needed to ask on their behalf. Is there something we can focus on for you that will enable you to support them or clarify how you communicate with them?

Medical conditions: if you have an issue that requires medical attention, please talk to your GP or community nurse or maybe you see another practitioner that you feel is appropriate such as a homeopath, naturopath or Ayurvedic practitioner. Reiki can be used alongside medical treatment and other complementary therapies.
