Meditation & Chanting Reflection

I was excited to meet for our first meditation and chanting café and the afternoon exceeded my expectations. It was a wonderful session with the emphasis on the power of chanting to facilitate and support meditation.

With tea in hand, we wrapped our minds and tongues around the first six sutras from Chapter One of the Yoga Sutras and the Ayur Mantra (for health and nourishment).

Chanting has the power to raise energy levels and calm them. It focuses and concentrates the mind to bring a state of clarity and presence – the goal of yoga. As we sat after chanting, the internal vibration continued but with it a sense of stillness, alignment and connectedness.

The café is open to those with none, some or a lot of chanting experience

  • Meditation and Chanting Café
  • When: Friday 28 February, 3.30 to 5.00 p
  • Where: The Hub, Long Ashton
  • Cost: £12 / café
  • Chants are in Sanskrit – chant sheets and recordings provided

I really got a lot out of the chanting last Friday. It took me to an even deeper state of meditation while exploring a breathing technique from deep down too…
It cleared my head of clutter. Looking forward to the next one!

I really enjoyed the chanting and meditation last week. There was a lovely feeling of connection both to myself and within the group. It left a very relaxed and calm space for the meditation at the end.
