I was delighted to receive this reflection from Ali. She touches on the gifts offered through consistent practice:
‘I have been interested in the philosophies of Yoga for most of my adult life and have spent some of that time searching for a teacher that worked for me. My search ended when I discovered Yvonne Cattermole. After my initial session in a class environment I knew her approach to teaching and practice was exactly what I’d been looking for. Remarkably, she was able to be aware of everyone’s individual needs and adapt her practice spontaneously for that individual. Something I had not come across before.
As a person she oozes empathy and patience and as a professional you feel safe in the hands of a very knowledgeable practitioner. It was due to work and family commitments that I chose one to one sessions. I’m not a particularly disciplined person when it comes to spending time on myself and wasn’t sure whether I would keep up my practice but I can honestly say it has changed my life and my health.
My sessions are specifically adapted to my needs, my body and my environment, and it feels great to see the changes both physically and emotionally. The emotional changes came as a surprise to me as I was going through a difficult time in my personal life and this was causing pain and restrictions in certain parts of my body. Yvonne helped me to recognise this and with her guidance I am now free of those restrictions. What I have learnt about my body is empowering so I would highly recommend one to one practice with Yvonne, you would have a great giggle too!’
